City Chairman congratulates senior citizens

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Le Hoang Quan on Thursday met with senior citizens and wished them to have good health and spirit to live positively and helpfully.

The meeting was held by People’s Committee and the Senior Association in District 1 in the 73rd anniversary of Vietnamese Senior People Traditional Day, honoring exemplary models of senior citizens in building and protecting the country.

The city chairman expected senior citizens in District 1 to be exemplary models for the young people to follow and be moral support of grandchildren.

On the occasion the city chairman presented gifts each worth VND1 million (US$ 47.2) to 20 senior citizens who are over 90 years old.

Photos of senior people’s activities were also displayed and a musical program was performed by the seniors at the meeting.

On the same day, Le Thanh Liem, deputy chairman of People’s Committee, visited and offered presents to 90 year old martyr’s mother Vu Thi Ngo in Tan Huong Street in Tan Phu District.
