City leader welcomes new Canadian ambassador

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received newly-appointed Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Deborah Paul yesterday afternoon.

At the friendly meeting with the ambassador, the city leader appreciated blossomed relationship between Canada and Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City. 

Additionally, he believed that the Canadian ambassador would affirm her important role in strengthening cooperation activities between Canada and Ho Chi Minh City. 

Ms. Deborah Paul said that the cooperation relations between the two sides are expected to harvest more success especially in the fields of trade and investment because the two countries are members of Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
