Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders went around town yesterday to congratulate and praise senior teachers and educational managers on the upcoming Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20.

Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem and representatives from the Party Committee, the Department of Education and Training visited Professor Nguyen Thanh Xuong, former principal of the Ho Chi Minh City Economy University, expressing admiration and thanks for his contributions to education sector.
At the age of 80, Professor Nguyen Thanh Xuong often takes heed to the city’s higher education and growth.
On the same day, Mr. Le Thanh Liem paid visits to Mr. Truong Song Duc, former director of the city’s Education Department in 1998 - 2004. At the meeting, teacher Truong Song Duc expected the city’s education sector develop and maintain its leading position.
Additionally, city leader should pay more attention to building education institutions and rest rooms in schools as well as teaching English and IT, he said.
On behalf of city leaders, Vice Chairman Le Thanh Liem sent his congratulation and expressed his gratitude to all teachers in the city. He also wanted to listen to teachers’ opinions about education development of the city.
