City leaders wish senior people good health on Int’l Day of Older People

On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons (on October 1) and the action month for Senior People, some delegations from Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee paid visit to senior people in the city.

The Standing Deputy Party Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Vo Van Thuong visited two elderly people Pham Ngoc Khanh and Pham Thi Dau in district 9, congratulating them on the day.

At the house of Mr. Pham Ngoc Khanh, who is 100 years old and a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Mr. Thuong gave him a congratulation card signed by State President Truong Tan Sang for his longevity.
 
At the house of Mrs. Dau, Mr. Thuong asked local government to take care of her – an elderly woman living alone.
 
Before, the delegation led by Mr. Thuong arrived at the house of Mrs. Nguyen Thu Huong and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nhat in district 10 to wish them good health.
 
Elsewhere in the city, a delegation led by Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Hoang Quan visited and greeted 90 year old Huynh Van Muon in district 5. Mr. Muon has partaken in the nation’s revolutionary resistance and he was awarded the First Resistant War Medal. And then the group came to visit Mr. Ngo Van Phu, 85 who has joined in the two revolutionary resistances against the French and American.
 
Meanwhile, delegations led by Nguyen Thanh Phong, a member of the Party Central Committee and deputy secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, chairwoman of the People's Council; Nguyen Hoang Nang Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in HCMC; Than Thi Thu, head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Commission for Propaganda and Education visited and greeted senior people in the city.
