City Party Leader calls on people not to litter in roads, canals

HCMC Party Leader Nguyen Thien Nhan yesterday issued a directive to mobilize residents not to liter in roads and canals for a clean city and flooding reduction.

The campaign will be implemented until October 2020. Afterward the city will review results and carry out futher solutions.

The standing board of HCMC Party Committee required HCMC People’s Committee to drastically carry out the breakthrough program of the Party Committee on environmental pollution reduction in the phase of 2016-2020 and Resolution 03 of the city People’s Council, issued on June 2017, on urban environmental protection and waste management.

The people’s committee has been asked to work with Vietnam Fatherland Front in HCMC and other political and social organizations to mobilize households, businesses and public service units not to liter in roads and canals to materialize urban civilized lifestyle.

In addition, it should require and surprise districts to efficiently carry out the breakthrough program. The city People’s Council should supervise the implementation of Resolution 03 and the campaign.

The Propaganda and Education Board of the Party Committee has asked press agencies to propagandize the campaign and raise public awareness and responsibility of environmental protection.
