A campaign exhorting people to follow Ho Chi Minh’s “moral example” in the last two years has contributed significantly to building the Party and consolidating the political system, Nguyen Van Dua, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee’s standing deputy secretary, said November 30.

Speaking at a meeting held in the city to review the pilot campaign, Mr Dua, who is also standing deputy head of its steering committee in the city, said the campaign has also strengthened innovation and helped prevent squander and corruption.
Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member, Permanent Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and permanent deputy head of the central campaign steering committee, praised the city for carrying out the campaign well.
But its achievements so far fall short of the campaign goals and requirements, he said.
He told authorities to widen the campaign across the city, especially at State-owned enterprises as well as joint-stock and private firms.
