City social welfare program goes into Tet mode

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee deputy chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thu Ha has ordered for giving Tet subsidies to people eligible for them under the city’s social welfare policy.

Senior revolutionary veterans, patriotic intellectuals, heroic mothers, and severely injured war invalids will get VND1.2 million.

Families of martyrs, war invalids and sick solders belonging to the first group, army heroes, labor heroes, and contributors to the revolutionary cause will each get VND750,000. War invalids belonging to all other groups will get VND500,000.

The city will also give Tet gifts worth VND500,000 to households with an average income of less than VND5 million per year, and gifts worth VND400,000 to people aged over 85 and beneficiaries of regular social welfare.
