Anti-corruption offices succeeded in detecting cases of corruption, but did not deal with the cases efficiently, some citizens commented during the meeting.
Several attendees pointed out difficulties in paying for treatment using health insurance at specialised hospitals. They urged the Government to take responsibility for unhygienic food services and importing used medical equipment.
The increasing number of traffic accidents has also caused concern. The residents asked the National Assembly to set up a mechanism to reorder traffic.
Other matters under discussion included the high number of public servants, which has put pressure on the State budget; high tuition fees; and an increase in criminal cases.
President Truong Tan Sang said he appreciated the voters' constructive opinions. Government employees' performances would need to be monitored closely, and their skills and quality of work would need to be improved, he said.
He called upon the public to support the State in the fight against wastefulness.
Sang also highlighted the need for local authorities to combat crime and ensure local security.
