Fire in Ho Chi Minh City kills seven

Seven people were killed in a house fire on Nguyen Trai Street, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City in the early hours of September 16.

According to eye witnesses, the fire broke out on the ground floor and spread to the floor above.

Firefighters gained control of the fire after more than an hour and found the bodies of the seven victims.

Initial investigations revealed the fire was caused by faulty electrics.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tat Thanh Cang immediately called an emergency meeting to address the consequences of the incident and inform the public.

The property contained a business selling hair products and styling utensils. Seven of the eight household members were at home when the fire broke out.
