The parking lots are located at Kumho Asian Plaza on Le Duan Street, on the pavement along Nguyen Du Street, at 125 Le Loi Street, 135 Nguyen Hue Street and 11B Nguyen Binh Khiem Street.

The above parking lots had not followed regulations that stipulated that rates must be publicly displayed giving a complete rate list.

They were also caught over-charging and quoting rates higher than regulated rates, even though they had no authority to do so.

The People’s Committee in District 1 thus decided to penalize the above five parking lots a fine of VND6-35 million each (US$286-1,667).

Warnings were also issued to 13 other parking lots in the district for not posting hotline numbers provided by ward people’s committees for residents to complain of wrongdoings at the respective parking lot.
