Flowers from the city, the Mekong Delta region and the Central Highland city of Dalat were brought in trucks to create the fabulously amazing displays on Nguyen Hue Street for Lunar New Year.
The theme of the flower street display is ‘New Heights’, showing the city’s determination to overcome obstacles to achieve great heights in politics, economics and in society.
The flower street has been designed with pathways for visitors to walk. A spectacular 5 meter high flower monument has been constructed at the end of the street so that people can view the entire street from this vantage point.
A book street has also been designed for book-lovers, especially children. The aim of the book street is to nurture the reading habit in kids, who are the country’s future.
Around 120,000 flowerpots of 50 different kinds of flowers have been used in the street display. Nguyen Hue Flower Street will remain open for visitors from 7 p.m. on January 31 until 10 p.m. on February 2.
