France & HCMC boost economic cooperation

French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary yesterday had a meeting with Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan to discuss economic cooperative projects in Ho Chi Minh City. 

At the reception, the French ambassador desired the construction of French House would be finished this year to mark the 45th establishment anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations and the five years since France and Vietnam have established the partnership relations. 

In addition, he also hoped that Ho Chi Minh City would support in promoting economic projects and create favorable conditions for the French enterprises and investors in Vietnam.

Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary shared a plan for building the European Management School (EMS) in Vietnam with three degree levels of Bachelor's, Master's and PhD. 

City Party chief Nguyen Thien Nhan acclaimed cooperation projects, especially establishment of the French House which would contribute enhancing bilateral relationships as well as cooperation investment between Ho Chi Minh City and France.

Currently, France is ranked the 17th biggest investor in Ho Chi Minh City with around 215 projects and 300 companies.
