The run is held every year, aiming to raise funds for charity activities in Vietnam. The run was first organized in 2000 and has been popular in the community. It has attracted more and more foreign and domestic businesses and individuals.

BBGV says it is expected to raise US$40,000 for charities. This year BBGV will use the fund for supporting Christina Noble Children’s Foundation medical scheme,  infrastructure projects of educational and social centers for children, a project of orphan center…

Organizers hope that there will be some 6,000 people taking part in the event. Participants will run, walk or stroll on the Sunday morning. As scheduled, participants will gather at the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Dist.1 at 6 a.m. and run through streets of Le Duan, Dong Khoi, Mac Thi Buoi, Hai Ba Trung and then come back to the zoo for the finish line.

The run is expected to be more fun thanks to Cuban musical band Luna Negra.

Runners can register at the BBGV Office Ground Floor, 25 Le Duan Blvd, District 1. The registration fee is VND100,000 (US$6) for adult and VND50,000 (US$3) for children from 6 to 12 years old. Younger kids can run free of charge.
