Districts 2, Tan Binh, Binh Thanh, Go Vap, Thu Duc, Cu Chi and Nha Be all faced blackout for some days in peak time because of lack of gas in the Phu My hydro power plant.

Meanwhile an electric system moderating center, part of The Electricity of Viet Nam, said since the beginning of September, electricity supplies couldn’t meet the increasing demands due to water shortage in thermoelectricity plants in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Cam Pha in northern Vietnam.

Although it is rainy season, water levels in hydropower reservoirs of Vietnam’s largest hydropower plants in the northern provinces of Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang and central and highlands provinces are very low compared to that in previous years, electricity regulators said.
