Ho Chi Minh City posthumously awarded “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” title to 831 women in the city on July 27.

The municipal leaders expressed deep gratitude to the heroic mothers for their great contribution and sacrifice towards the cause of national liberation and reconstruction, and wished them good health and a long life, and asked the local authorities to take care of the mothers and help improve their lives.

The event is part of the activities to mark the 67th anniversary of Vietnam’s War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).

A delegation of city’s leaders and thousands of people visited and offered incense at the Sac Forest martyrs' cemetery on the same day.

In addition, the central province of Quang Tri held a ceremony on July 27 celebrating the 67th anniversary of Vietnam’s War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
