HCM City's calligraphy street opens

The annual calligraphy street was kicked off at the Youth’s Cultural House and the Labor Culture Palace on January 28 with attendance of a large number of visitors.

The event which is organized in the end of December of the lunar calendar aims to present one of the indispensable Vietnamese New Year traditions.

The calligraphers wear traditional costumes and writing & selling nice words written in calligraphy to customers.

Buying calligraphic works is believed to bring purchasers good luck and prosperity. Calligraphic works are written in Vietnamese, Chinese, English and others languages with special kind of ink.

The event will run until February 7.
