HCM City’s chairman receives head of OPIC

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong hosted a reception for the President and CEO of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the U.S. Government's development finance agency, Elizabeth Littlefield on October 25.

The chairman has called on American investors to help Ho Chi Minh City and turn it into a smart city, in areas like traffic, education, infrastructures, and healthcare.

The OPIC will create more opportunities that helps Vietnam's economic development  through the investment in various areas, particularly recycled energy and aviation infrastructure, said the President and CEO of OPIC.

The chairman also received Vice Minister for Foreign Trade of the Netherlands, Marten van den Berg, on the same day. The Vice Minister who led a delegation of 50 business people of 35 Dutch companies visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on October 24 and 25.
