That was announced by HCMC Urban Railway Management Board yesterday.
Dong Nai and Binh Duong people’s committees have also agreed with the project which is suitable with HCMC transport development plan by 2020 approved by the Prime Minister.
The extended metro line will facilitate residents' travel in the two provinces and HCMC, attract more passengers for the project, boost urban development along the route and contribute in reducing traffic overloading in the northeastern part of HCMC.
The city has supported and committed to assisting authorized agencies in the two provinces to do necessary procedures according to regulations to build the project and put it into operation on schedule.
