Attending at the event were Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Nguyen Thanh Phong, Standing deputy chairman of HCMC People's Committee Le Thanh Liem, representatives of relevant departments and 500 businesses.
Accordingly, groups of key industrial products include precast metal products, electrical equipment, plastic and rubber products, processed food products, beverage products, electronic – information technology products, and apparel products.
A group of industrial products with high potential consists of pharmaceutical and chemicals products.
Meanwhile, groups of key agricultural products are plants (vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants), cows (cows of various breeds, cow milk) and pigs (pigs of various breeds, pork) and brackish water shrimp products.
Speaking at the conference, chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong asked the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, and the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to focus on strengthening and popularizing the development of key industrial and agricultural production connected to the “Vietnamese use made-in-Vietnam goods” campaign.
He also suggested relevant departments to study the group of key service products of hotel-restaurant, food and beverage, finance-banking, E-commerce and entertainment.
Key products are expected to meet local and international market demands as well as compete with foreign products and replace similar products offered by foreign companies, he added.
