HCMC celebrates 95th anniversary of arrival to Russia by President Ho Chi Minh

 Ho Chi Minh City solemnly celebrated the 95th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's first arrival to Russia (June 30, 1923 – June 30, 2018) at Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Theater.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo Member, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee,  Mr. Katanandov Sergey Leonidovich, Special Envoy of the Governor of Saint Petersburg City in charge of development and cooperation with the Russian Federation.

Expressing the joy of welcoming the delegation of Saint Petersburg city on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the first visit by Uncle Ho to Petrograd, now Saint Petersburg, Head of Propaganda and Education Commission of city Pảty Committee Ms. Than Thi Thu said that just more than a month ago, Ho Chi Minh City delegation led by comrade Nguyen Thien Nhan attended the celebration of the 128th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the 95th anniversary of Uncle Ho's first  arrival to Petrograd organized by the Saint Petersburg city government.

“The companionship and assistance of the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation at present to the Vietnamese revolution show the fact that leader Nguyen Ai Quoc set foot on Petrograd on June 30, 1923 was a historical choice. The relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation is a rare one because it is rooted in the solid foundation of traditional friendship and mutual assistance. This relationship has been tested and challenged over long time. Ho Chi Minh City is proud to have been named after Presedent Ho Chi Minh. The city strives to constantly develop and become a sentimental, civilized and modern city of good living quality. Ho Chi Minh City currently has cooperative relationships with 5 localities of the Russian Federation, covering all fields, investment, trade, environment, education and training, tourism, health care”, she stated.

Acting Consul General of the Russian Federation in HCMC, Ms. Maria G. Mizonova, asserted that President Ho Chi Minh is a symbol of national solidarity and one of the famous revolutionary leaders who have entered the world history. In the past time, despite many challenges, the relationship between the Russian Federation and Vietnam continued to develop. It is expected that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries will continue to thrive in future areas.

Speaking at the anniversary, Mr. Katanandov Sergey Leonidovich affirmed that 95 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh's arrival at Petrograd was the beginning of the Vietnam-Russia friendship. Expressing his joy at the anniversary, Mr. Katanandov Sergey Leonidovich affirmed that Saint Petersburg was honored and proud to become the first and unique city in the world to have the Ho Chi Minh Institute.

In the afternoon of the same day, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo Member, Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee also received and talked with the delegation from Saint Petersburg City of the Russian Federation, led by Mr. Katanandov Sergey Leonidovich, Special Envoy of Saint Petersburg Governor.
