Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said at an Independence Day reception party that HCMC was a friendly tourist destination to all holidaymakers in the world.

The party was held by city's Party Committee, People’s Council, municipal People’s Committee and the Fatherland Front on August 29, aiming to say thanks to international friends.
Chairman Le Hoang Quan said that the city has concerted efforts to deserve the country’s economic and social hub, friendly tourist destination for international travelers and potential locality for investment.
In the first eight month of the year the city’s economy maintains stable and growing despite the world’s complicated situation, he said.
The chairman hoped that the stable economy would serve as a lever to boost the city’s growth target of 9.5 percent by 2014.
On behalf of city authorities, Chairman Le Hoang Quan expressed his thanks to consulate generals, international organizations, non-government organizations and associations of foreign enterprises for their cooperation and strengthening of longstanding friendship and support to the city.
Russian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Anatoly Borovik congratulated the city for its achievement, lauding impressive progress, expressing belief in the city social- economic plan for economic growth and improvement of people living conditions.
