The Department of Population and Family Planning in Ho Chi Minh City July 8 held a meeting in respond to the World Population Day themed “ Supporting reproductive Health care and Family Planning for vulnerable residents in natural disaster-hit areas” launched by the Ministry of Health's General Office for Population Family Planning.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Tan Binh, director of the municipal Department of Health, said that in the next time, the support for family planning will be cut.
In addition, the departments and agencies specializing in population and family planning sector must develop project and activities which proper for the need of residents in natural disaster –hit districts.
In the 2011 to 2015 period, the city has launched 8 campaigns to popularize information of reproductive health and family planning to households in 312 wards in 24 districts. 678 participants have agreed to be sterilized and 29,479 people have had their reproductive health checked up and 22,513 other women have been examined gynaecological disease.
