Thousands of people joined the second recycling festival, held by the city’s ‘Recycle Fund,’ at Le Van Tam Park, district 1  on May 17.

They have responded to the fund’s appeal to collect waste, such as batteries, dynamos, fluorescent light tubes and chemical containers in exchange for gifts.

It is hoped the festival will increase public awareness of reducing waste and recycling, as well as saving natural resources and protecting the environment.

Permanent Deputy  chairman of HCMC People’s Committee, Nguyen Thanh Tai, said this activity should be held regularly to improve the public’s awareness of environmental issues.
