HCMC hosts boat race on Tau Hu-Ben Nghe Canal

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City hosted a boat race on Tau Hu-Ben Nghe Canal for the first time, to welcome the New Year, on December 30.

Nineteen teams from various provinces and cities in Vietnam participated in the race such as An Giang, Ben Tre, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, Kien Giang Provinces and from Ho Chi Minh City. There was also one team from Japan.

In the women’s category, Kien Giang Province won first prize, Dong Thap Province won second and Can Tho City won the third prize.

In the men’s category, the first prize went to Binh Thuan Province, second to Kien Giang Province and third to Can Tho City.
