HCMC leader welcomes Malaysian investors to pour investment in metro

In the reception of Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato Mohd Zamruni Khalid yesterday, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong emphasized that the city authorities welcome Malaysian investors to pour investment into the city’s metro.
Mr. Phong expected to have meeting with HCMC leaders and Malaysian businesspersons to exchange details.
Yesterday, Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato Mohd Zamruni Khalid came to bid farewell to the municipal leader.
At the meeting, Phong spoke highly of the two countries’ bilateral cooperative ties in economy and culture, as well as enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples.
Bilateral trade is developing positively, surpassing US$13 billion in 2018, he noted.
Malaysia is the fourth investor in Ho Chi Minh City amongst 106 nations and territories with 246 investment projects worth $4.6 billion and bilateral trade between Malaysia and HCMC reached to $3.4 billion in 2018.
For his part, Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato Mohd Zamruni Khalid thanked HCMC leaders for providing favorable conditions for him to fulfill tasks hoping a deeper cooperation between the two countries in the future.
