HCMC leaders meet foreign representatives of offices, consulates

People’s Committee in Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting with representatives of foreign organizations, associations and companies in the city.

Chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong stressed that the city has held many activities in foreign affairs in 2016.

2016 marked the profound and large cooperation between the city and international partners in culture and economic development through signing agreements and effective and successful implementation.

Sending his wishes for the new year and thanks to international friends for contribution to the city’s growth, Chairman  Phong expected foreign general consulates, organizations and enterprises to continue being bridges in relations between HCMC and countries in the world.

He expected the international relations will help the city gain its targets to become one of a hub of economy, commerce, finance and technology in the Southeast Asia.

Highly appreciating the city’s achievements  last year, Mr. Simon van der Burg, Consul General of the Netherlands said that HCMC is an example of right policies to boost economic growth with listening to residents and enterprises’ opinions before making policies.

On behalf of consulates, Mr. Simon thanked the government and locals to support the activities of consulates asserting continued cooperation with the city.

Party Secretary Dinh La Thang and leaders of agencies also attended the meeting.
