Leaders from Ho Chi Minh City on February 25 paid visits and greeted senior medical staff and doctors on the 60th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctor’s Day on February 27.

Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Secretary Le Thanh Hai, led a delegation to visit families of late Professor-Doctor Nguyen Thien Thanh, who was a former director of Thong Nhat Hospital, and of passed-away Doctor Duong Quang Trung who was a former director of the city’s Department of Health on February 25.
At the house of Professor Nguyen Thien Thanh, Mr. Hai burnt incense, expressing his gratitude to the professor’s contribution to the health sector including scientific researches and training next generation.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Mr. Hai wished the professor’s family good health and happy new year.
At the house of Professor Duong Quang Trung, Mr. Hai stressed that when Dr. Trung was alive, he was devoted to the health career and recorded his impression in the sector’s development.
Doctor Trung’s talent and medical ethic will be a good model for young physician to follow, said Mr. Hai. He also wished doctor's relatives prosperous new year and good health.
Meantime, Chairman of the city People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan led a delegation to visit Dr. Tran Thi Trung Chien who was a former Health Minister and Vietnamese Heroic Mother Bui Thi Me who was a former Health Deputy Minister.
Mr. Quan wished Ms. Tran Thi Trung Chien good health, expecting that she would devote more for the sector’s development.
At the house of Heroic Mother Bui Thi Me Mr. Quan encouraged relatives of the mother to contribute more in the country’s growth and preserve family’s tradition.
On the same day, a delegation of the Party Committee’s Propaganda and Education Department led by it head Than Thi Thu met Labor Heroic, Pharmacist Tran Van Nhieu, director of the Pharmaceutical Company Pharmedic and Labor Heroic and People’s Doctor Ta Thi Chung, former director of Tu Du Maternity Hospital.
On behalf of city leaders, Ms. Thu wished them to be healthy, expressing her gratitude to two doctor’s contribution to the healthcare mission.
Elsewhere in the city, Vo Thi Dung, chairwoman of the municipal Fatherland Front led a group to present gifts to Dr. Truong Thi Xuan Lieu and Pharmacist Truong Vinh, both former director of the Department of Health on the occasion.
Before, Head of Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Huynh Thanh Lap wished Professor Nguyen Dinh Hoi, former director of the city’s Medicine University and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong, former director of Tu Du Maternity Hospital. Mr. Lap thanked the two doctors for their contribution to health sector and wished them good health.
