HCMC new urban area to get addresses

A house in Nguyen Van Linh Street, District 7 has two different addresses.
With 20 new roads required to be named in Ho Chi Minh City’s Phu My Hung urban area, the Department of Construction has ordered the Management Authority for Southern Area Development (MASAD) not to use a house-numbering system developed by a US firm but follow a system used in the rest of the city.

It said the latter’s choice, Dolsoft Company’s “Intelligent house numbers” system – in which a house’s number is the same as its distance in meters from the beginning of the road -- would not work.

MASAD has submitted a list of 20 roads that need to be named to the department and the city’s Council for Street Naming, which is in the process of creating a list of names.

The department is responsible for ensuring all areas in the city have proper addresses.
