HCMC Promotes Issuing Free Bus Cards to Disabled

At a meeting about promoting issuing free bus cards to the disabled in Ho Chi Minh City on August 10, Vice-director of the Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Department Nguyen Van Se said the work of issue of cards is carried out slowly.

The disabled will not have to pay when getting on bus

Only 4,843 disadvantaged people have received cards out of 20,000; 1,200 cards are going to be issued soon.

Through working together, the Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Department and HCMC Transport and Public Works Department agreed to start checking free bus cards on routes from September 1.

In addition, the disabled in some localities can not access information of issuing free bus cards.

After this date, those who have not got a card will pay and be reminded of making a card for themselves.

Disabled people nationwide can register to make their cards at Transport and Public Works Department in districts of HCMC.

Leaders of Transport and Public Works Department unveiled the manufacture of some special buses for the disabled. It is expected that this kind of bus will run at the end of this year.
