HCMC proposes 20 PPP traffic projects

The Department of Transport has said that it is completing a feasibility study to propose construction of over 20 technical infrastructure projects under Public Private Partnership (PPP) form.

The Department of Transport has said that it is completing a feasibility study to propose construction of over 20 technical infrastructure projects under Public Private Partnership (PPP) form.

The proposed projects include a 4 kilometer parallel road on the right of HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway, underground parking lots at Tao Dan, Hoa Lu 5 and September 23 parks, smart bus ticket, Thu Thiem 4 bridge, Rung Sac road, Can Gio bridge, roads linking Binh Thai intersection up to Pham Van Dong street and An Lac Intersection up to Nguyen Van Linh street.

Besides there are projects to build and upgrade Vam Thuat bridge and Vuon Lai street, a Saigon Riverside road connecting Thanh My Loi residential area and Vo Van Kiet Boulevard, Highway 22, Nguyen Huu Canh and Nguyen Duy Trinh streets.

According to the department, the city’s budget can meet 30 percent of capital demand of technical infrastructure projects. Therefore mobilization of capital from private investors plays a significant role in developing the city’s traffic system.
