HCMC proposes social houses for teachers in distant areas

People’s Committee in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Chanh District proposed to provide social houses for teachers in distant communes to attract more teachers to work in these areas.

In a meeting with the municipal People’s Committee yesterday on the education policies, People’s Committee voiced the proposal.
Because the district is in the city’s gate with many industrial parks to attract immigrants from corners of the country; the number of students increase 8,500 a year; consequently, there is not enough schools for all of them.
The district is building eight facilities for the new academic year including five preschools to meet increased demand of workers in Le Minh Xuan Industrial Park and locals. 
For the school year 2016-2017, the district recruited additional 414  teachers yet it just meets half of demand. There is a lack of teachers of music, drawing, English in distant communes Le Minh Xuan, Pham Van Hai. To solve the matter, local authorities proposed to give social houses to teachers in disadvantaged communes.
