Egg price reduced VND1,000 to VND24,000 a pack of ten chicken eggs and VND32,000 per pack of ten duck eggs.

Duck price fell VND5,000 to VND65,000 a kilogram. Pork prices drop VND2,000-3,000 a kilogram to swing from VND84,000 to VND100,000 a kilogram.

Price reduction in several commodities such as petrol and feed has lowered input costs for businesses, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chien, head of the Price Division under the city Department of Finance.

Mr. Chien forecast that the prices will remain stable from now until the upcoming Tet Holiday. Subsidized product supplies will be abundant and their prices might further decline, ensuring 5-10 percent lower than the market prices and stimulating consumption demand.
