HCMC strives to end street flooding by 2020

Ho Chi Minh City has been making efforts to end street flooding by 2020 in the recently issued plan by the city People’s Committee in implementing anti-flooding program in the phase of 2018-2020.

As per its plan, the city strives to tackle flooding due to rainwater and high tide in the remaining of 20 streets and 28 alleys in the city. 
Construction will be done in two wastewater treatment plants of second phase of Binh Hung and Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe.
In addition, the city will start work on four other wastewater treatment plants namely Tay Sai Gon, Binh Tan, Tan Hoa Lo Gom and Bac Sai Gon 1.
The committee has also decided to establish a steering board for anti-flooding action program in the phase of 2018-2020. Deputy chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen will be head of the 11 member board.
