Deputy Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen has urged the Department of Transport to review and report on the results of existing measures to alleviate traffic gridlock and accidents for the period 2016-2020.
The mentioned solutions include the limitation of trucks in downtown areas, providing buses for students and workers. Moreover, the Department should clarify the barriers and how to deal with it during the process.
The Department will propose several feasible projects especially focus on the application of staggered hours for local schools, industrial parks, and export processing zones. Then relevant agencies will adopt efficient solution for metropolitan area and gates into the city.
The transport department was required to submit a detailed plan to the People’s Committee before November 3.
Since 2007, the Department of Education and Training has implemented staggered hours for students as well as for workers in industrial and export processing parks.

As congestion has been becoming increasingly serious, the municipal People’s Committee and relevant departments re-considered the plan to reduce traffic congestion in rush hours.
