HCMC to Establish More Cooperatives, Cooperative Groups

Xuan Loc Agricultural Cooperative is growing up with products made from crocodile-skin and meat.    

Ho Chi Minh City Cooperative Alliance recently announced its targets for the 2006-2010 period at the third congress on April 14, in which more member establishments and financial supports will be concentrated.

The alliance plans to develop more cooperatives in terms of size and effectiveness, establish more 2,000 cooperative groups, 250 cooperatives and three cooperative alliances.

Also, the alliance’s members can get financial support or loans for their production from a VND1 trillion budget, which will receive the contributions of over 15,300 cooperative members.

The alliance’s third congress held at the Ho Chi Minh City Hall was attended by 392 participants representing ten thousands of cooperative members across the city.

On the occasion, a new committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Cooperative Alliance for the 2006-2010 term was elected and Mr. Nguyen Duy Hieu chosen as the new chairman.
