Health authorities grill Japanese clinic managers over violations

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health sought explanations at a meeting yesterday with the managers of a Japanese dental clinic that has been found violating health regulations.

A surprise inspection by department officials last week found the Phu My Hung-based An Hue Dental Clinic advertising the services of Japanese doctors though the department has not licensed any, using unauthorized equipment, and breaching other regulations.

At the meeting, inspector Pham Huu Quoc asked director Nguyen Hoanh Duc for employees’ contracts, license, and authorization to use an X-ray machine but Mr. Duc could only produce his personal certificates.

The department is continuing its inquiry into the refusal by the clinic employees to cooperate with the inspectors last week.

The clinic is also known as Keiyukai Sai Gon Dental Clinic Implant Center.
