Meeting on Sai Gon- Cho Lon- Gia Dinh Revolutionary Tradition held in city

A meeting highlighting revolutionary tradition and patriotism was held at the Sai Gon- Cho Lon- Gia dinh Revolutionary Tradition Monument in Ho Chi Minh City’s Cu Chi District on February 1 (on the 5th day of the first lunar month).

Attending the ceremony were Former Prime Minister Phan Van Khai, former President Nguyen Minh Triet, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communication and Education, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh La Thang, and Chairman of the National Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Hoang Nang.

City party secretary Dinh La Thang honored martyrs and people who have sacrificed themselves for the country and made outstanding contribution to this land during Vietnam's two resistance wars against the France and the US, and praised the city’s great achievements in socio-economic development over the past 40 years.

Former Prime Minister Phan Van Khai said that the meeting was also a chance to educate young people about patriotic and military tradition.

On the occasion, State and Party leaders also offered flowers to martyrs at the Sai Gon- Cho Lon- Gia dinh Revolutionary Tradition Monument and at Ben Duoc Monument Temple for the Martyrs.
