Mien Dong Coach Station becomes first e-bus station in HCMC

The Mien Dong (Eastern) Coach Station in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Thanh District yesterday officially installed microchip that stores and processes information and an antenna to receive and transmit signals aiming to avoid endless vehicles’ queues at the entrance of the station.

All vehicles in the station have been installed microchip and cameras so that they can enter and leave the station to cut down waiting time.
From May 21 till now, over 100 passenger bus of Kumho Samco traveling in routes such as HCMC- Vung Tau, HCMC - Phan Thiet, and HCMC - Tay Nguyen have been installed with microchip and cameras.
Currently, bus companies continued to register installation of microchips on their vehicles. It is expected that around 2,500 vehicles in the station will be installed microchips in the end of June.
First installation of microchips is gratis and bus companies ought to promise to keep the microchip in good repair in three years. After three years, bus companies will pay for new microchips if microchips are broken.
