More cultural, economic activities take place in HCMC: Chairman

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong urged the Department of Foreign Affairs to push the cultural and economic activities between the city and other countries in the globe at a yesterday meeting to review the city's foreign affairs mission in 2016.

In 2016, the Department has organized meetings between city leaders and its foreign counterparts in Laos, Cambodia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and the US. The city has launched many events including international tourism fairs, meeting of “Vietnamese people in oversea contribute to the city’s sustainable development and international integration”.

Chairman Phong asked the Department to take the initiate with other agencies in promoting cultural and economic activities as well as friendly cooperation between the city and other countries deeply aiming to bring more benefit for the city in the fields of water management, environment, climate change and training.
