National Day of Russia celebrated in Ho Chi Minh City

A ceremony marking the National Day of the Russian Federation (June 12th) was held in HCMC on June 8.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of HCM City People's Council, Pham Duc Hai emphasized the traditional relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries over the past 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1950.
On behalf of HCMC leaders, Mr. Pham Duc Hai told about the successful visit to Russia by Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan in May.
The delegation of Ho Chi Minh City high ranking officials led by the city's Party Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan participated in several activities promoting relations and cooperations between Vietnam and Russia in various fields, such as a ceremony celebrating the 128th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) and 95 years since the Vietnam great leader first arrived in Russia, the signing of cooperation agreement in the 2018-2020 period between HCMC and Saint Petersburg.
Russian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City,  Aleksei Vladimirovich Popov affirmed that Russia always considers Vietnam as its reliable partner and a long-standing friend.
He also highly appreciated HCMC as a locality that has numerous cooperative activities with Russia.
