New Railways Set For HCMC

The Ministry of Construction’s research on communications and transport planning in Ho Chi Minh City has been presented to the Prime Minister, paving the way for an immense new railway network to be completed by 2020.

The new railways will provide transport to urban denizens around the city as well as outlining the surrounding HCMC area, stretching as far as Binh Phuoc Province and Cambodia.

As well, a long-distance express line will be built from HCMC to
Nha Trang, along with two other national lines departing from ports of Cat Lai in District 2 and Hiep Phuoc in Nha Be District.

Newly Planned Rail Lines Outside The City:
-HCMC - Bien Hoa City (Dong Nai Province) -Vung Tau City
-HCMC - Loc Ninh (Binh Phuoc Province) - Cambodia
-HCMC - My Tho City - Can Tho City,

Inner-City Local Lines:
-Binh Trieu (Thu Duc District) - Hoa Hung (District 10) - Tan Kien (Binh Chanh District)
-Ben Thanh Market (District 1) - Suoi Tien (Thu Duc District)
-Tay Ninh Bus Station - Thu Thiem (District 2)
-Highway 13 - Cay Go Roundabout (District 6 )
-Ben Cat Bridge (District 12) - Nam Sai Gon (Sai Gon South, District 7)
-Can Giuoc Bus Station (Long An Province) - Sai Gon Bridge
-Trang Bang (Tay Ninh Province) - Tan Thoi Hiep (District 12)
-Thu Thiem (District 2) - Long Thanh Airport (Dong Nai Province)
