Outgoing Italian Ambassador bids farewell to HCM City

Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on September 14 received Italian Ambassador to Viet Nam Cecilia Piccioni, who came to say goodbye before ending her tenure.

Ho Chi Minh City Party chief Nguyen Thien Nhan affirmed the sustainable development in relation between Vietnam and Italy, especially in the field of trade and investment.
The bilateral trade turnover between the two countries reached US$4.4 billion in 2017. As of October, 2017, Italy had 83 projects worth US$381 million in Vietnam, ranking the 31st among 128 countries and territories worldwide that have the investments in the country. 
He also highly appreciated outstanding contribution of the Italian Ambassador in strengthening the relationship between two nations hoping that her successor will continue to connect and promote relation among economic planning units of the two sides in building a new cooperation mechanism to enjoy more benefits after the European-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) enters in force.
Italian Ambassador to Viet Nam Cecilia Piccioni expressed her joy of the development in relation between Vietnam and Italy, especially in the fields of economy, culture and sport.
On the same day, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong also hosted a reception for the outgoing Italian Ambassador, Cecilia Piccioni .
