Over VND1,464 billion was spent for charitable activities in HCMC during 5 past years, reported the Red Cross in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday.

The Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross is considered as a leading organization in the south.
Many charitable activities of the society have developed across the country such as the program to take care of the poor and Agent Orange victims on Tet holiday; Oxen bank to join hand to build new rural districts; Love meals for homeless seniors; Sharing painfulness to help victims of natural disaster and other programs.
The Society has maintained and developed 49 medical rooms and set up a center to provide training on first aid and 775 posts to give first aid.
Additionally, the society has attracted more blood donors to ensure safe blood for treatment.
