PetroVietnam begins gas supply for HCMC power plant

Hiep Phuoc Power Plant is located in Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Hiep Phuoc Power Plant began receiving gas from PetroVietnam October 15 for generating electricity, officials said.

The gas, supplied through a 39-kilometer pipeline, passes through Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province and the city’s Can Gio and Nha Be Districts, and can supply a maximum of 10.4 million cubic meters a day.

With three turbines in operation, Hiep Phuoc alone requires 2.1-2.4 million cubic meters. The rest will be shared by the Nhon Trach power plant in Dong Nai Province and other industrial units.
