Recycle Program launched to fund needy children

The Communist Youth Union in Ho Chi Minh City and Interfood Company launched a program on June 20 to collect and recycle waste to help needy children in the City.

From July 1 to September 20, the Youth Union will form 20 teams of volunteers to collect used bottles made of polyethylene terephthalate, and thrown away cans. The aforesaid waste will be bought by Interfood at VND170 per can and VND50 per bottle for recycling.

Under the program, five million plastic bottles and cans will generate VND1 billion for funds that will go into building five safe drinking water systems for elementary schools in Can Gio and Cu Chi Districts, and five bulletin boards to propagandize knowledge on climate change in some high schools in the City.
