Second festival for expatriates in HCMC to begin mid September

‘Our House’ Festival for foreigner communities in Ho Chi Minh City will be hosted at the September 23 Park, Ho Chi Minh City from September 14-23 and seven countries have registered to attend with interesting programs.

The announcement was made at a press conference by the HCMC Departments of Foreign Affairs and Culture, Sports and Tourism and the city Union of Friendship Organizations on September 5.

The festival will have a number of new activities and is expected to attract at least 1,000 visitors.

Exhibition area will introduce images of Vietnam, Vietnamese and country’s seas and islands to visitors and foreign friends. They can also attend in music activities that will comprise a new item ‘My favorite Vietnamese songs’ for foreigners.

Besides Vietnamese popular games, the organization board will introduce Russian and South Korean folk games to visitors.

A South Korean taekwondo team will perform at the festival for the first time. Eight countries have registered for a cuisine festival.

The ‘Our House’ Festival was organized first time last year connecting foreign communities and expatriate students in HCMC.

HCMC automobile state budget collection declines

The automobile state budget in Ho Chi Minh City reached around VND2,800 billion ($121.5 million) at the end of June, 2018 while it was nearly VND 9,700 billion in the same period. There was a year-on-year reduction of VND6,900 billion.
