A 28-year-old man mercilessly burnt to death his 60-year-old half-paralysed father at 11am on Friday, January 20 inside the latter’s home on 62B/3B Street in An Phu Tay Commune of Binh Chanh District in Ho Chi Minh City.
60-year-old Nguyen Huynh Dao was suffering from half-body paralysis and was on a wheel chair. His vagrant youngest son, 28-year-old Nguyen Duc Tho lived in Baria – Vung Tau with his mother.
Dao’s third son Nguyen Thanh Hiep said that due to some conflict, their father had evicted his youngest son Tho from his house.
Tho was suffering from severe diabetes and had come home on several occasions to ask his father for money but was always turned down.
When returning home to beg for money from his dad and was denied, Tho brought a can of petrol and poured it over his father who was on the wheel chair and unable to move. He then set the chair on fire and his father who could not save himself burnt to death.
Police have arrested Tho and sealed the area for further investigation.
