Authorities and civil servants at local levels must implement thrift practices and anti-wastefulness by registering their consumption norms, particularly in management, expenses of meetings and other occasions, said a senior official in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday.
HCM City Party Chief Le Thanh Hai announced the decision at a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City to review the anti-corruption, thrift practice and anti-wastefulness tasks and implementation of new missions to the end of 2007.
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee will begin inspections and reallocate current state cadres to appropriate positions at principal governmental offices, state-owned companies, and project management boards.
In addition, from 2007, according to Mr. Hai, construction and investment projects funded by the city’s budget must be ensured in term of quality, out-look harmony, environment and labor safety.
