Saigon Clean Water Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company on April 4 started construction of the third phase of the Thu Duc Water Plant in Linh Trung Ward of Thu Duc District in Ho Chi Minh City.

For the third phase, a total capital of VND1.2 trillion (US$57.47 million) will be spent to build a facility that will supply 300,000 cubic meters of fresh water a day.
Construction will include a pumping station over 1.3 hectares in Dong Nai Province that will take out water from Dong Nai River and another treatment facility at Thu Duc Water Plant.
Construction work is expected to complete by 2014 and will by then provide fresh water for 600,000 households in several wards in Districts Thu Duc, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, Tan Binh, 1 and 3 in Ho Chi Minh City.
