Times Square Vietnam- place where elite businessmen get together

Ho Chi Minh City’s only six-star hotel the Riverie Saigon Hotel in Times Square Building last weekend had a chance to welcome special guests from royal families in the world and international business groups who arrived in the city to attend the Charity Polo Cup held for the first time in Vietnam.

The VIPs including British Royal member Prince Peter Philips who is the eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Malaysian Prince Tengku Amir Puteri Suraija and his wife and many successful businessmen spent their time in the hotel during their trip to Vietnam.
After enjoying a polo match between Thai Royal Polo Team and Brunei Royal Polo Team in Long Thanh Golf Field in District 9, the guests get to gather in a charity auction in the majestic space of the hotel last Friday evening that was funded by the Times Square Vietnam owner.
Many masterpieces of art were sold in the auction including a ceramic lion statue created by the country’s leading pottery manufacturer Minh Long I, jewelry complex Dragon Heart, pearl necklace Vietnamese Pearl Elite, oil painting Sunrise 2 by artist Hong Viet Dung. The organizer also added to the auction first class tickets sponsored by Vietnam Airlines, vouchers for one week on cruiser ship Whirlwind, a five -day tour for two people to enjoy Formula 1 race in Singapore Grand Prix 2015 financed by Mercedes- Benz Vietnam… The Times Square owner won the tour to Formula 1 race at the price of US$ 40,000, making it the highest record in the auction.  All money collected from the auction will be donated to charity funds of the Association of Vietnamese Veteran Businesses, Saving Vietnam’s Wildlife, Stop Ivory.

Times Square Vietnam building has received many special guests since it was built in 2012. Last year British football team’s famous former member David Beckham chose the Riverie Saigon Hotel in Times Square Vietnam to stay during his trip to boost a beverage product developed by his company.

The polo match between the Thai Royal Polo Team and Brunei Royal Polo Team last Friday is the first ever polo match in Vietnam held by the couple of famous singer Thu Minh and her husband – billionair Otto De Jager .
Polo is played professionally in 16 countries. It was formerly, but is not currently, an Olympic sport. Polo is played most in kingdoms so kingdoms’ national polo teams are called royal polo teams. Its audiences are members of royal families and successful businessmen hence a polo match is a place for VIPs and celebrities get together. During it’s trip to Vietnam for the first time it natturally attracted businessmen and showbiz stars and its grand stand became a fashion show of celebrities.
